Date & Time of First Presentation - October 19, 2020 from 7:00 – 8:30 pm Title - “…His Majesty’s Good Servant, But God’s First”: What Saint Thomas More Has to Teach Us About Conscience and Its Formation Presenter – Bishop Ronald W. Gainer, DD, JCL Description – The claims of conscience are at the heart of the religious freedom controversies. We will look to England’s great witness to conscience to explore the true nature of conscience. Unlike many public officials then and today, Saint Thomas More did not quarantine his conscience from his public acts. Is conscience merely the individual’s subjective conviction of right and wrong or, as More wrote, “the fruit of education in the truth”? Registration Deadline: Friday, October 16 at noon. Zoom link will be sent to registrants with confirmation of their registration. To register for this presentation, please visit: https://hbgdiocese.formstack.com/forms/speaker_series Registration is free, however, a free will offering is appreciated to pay future speakers a modest stipend for sharing their talents with us.
