It all began with a few conversations that Anne Rocktashel and Fr. Hoke had with The Sisters of Christian Charity. Multiple statues were up for grabs, including the corpus. The Corpus was once a fixture in the Sister's private cemetery. Needless to say the Corpus was in need of repair. With the help of Dough Bertanzetti who repaired the Corpus and Patrick Shaw, son of Stefanie and Tom Shaw, who welded the cross. New life was returned to the beautiful Corpus. Jim Seksinsky, however, took the helm and was instrumental in the engineering of this beautiful addition to our cemetery. With the help of Jim's son Mark, they used a lift to hoist the 160 pound cross into position. Fr. Hoke wanted a Spanish style roof. Jim researched and found a company willing to work with him on such a small job. Jim spent many hours with the company working out the dimension and angles. The final touch was the solar light that illuminates the Crucifix at night.
